Giving birth is one of the best experiences you will ever have, but let’s face it things can get pretty messy and uncomfortable in the postpartum weeks that follow. The good news is, things do go back to normal. Usually you’ll feel better down there in a week, but it does take a good 6 weeks for a complete recovery. I’ve been taking care of postpartum moms for a while and this postpartum care package checklist is all you’ll need after delivery. I recommend all of these items to my patients – and we use these specific items at my hospital.

Maternity Maxi Pads
These Coviden Maternity Pads are super heavy absorbency pads. They are amazing and my Postpartum moms love them. Expect to bleed for 2-6 weeks, so its important to have these on stock.
Most hospitals give these out , so make sure to ask for one to take home with you. They are also super cheap on Amazon.
Dermoplast is the absolute best, it cools and soothes your vaginal area if you have any tears and burning. It’s only provides a temporary cooling relief so reapply often
Mesh Postpartum Underwear
Girls, I swear these mesh postpartum underwear are so soft and comfy, you’ll never want to take them off.
In the days that follow delivery, it may be a little difficult to have a bowel movement. Colace helps speed things along. We give them to you while you’re in the hospital, but it’s a good idea to have some at home too.
If you have hemorrhoids after delivery, hemorrhoid cream is a must!
Tucks pads are another healing and cooling aid that you can insert onto your pad in your undies for comfort.
Ibuprofen works wonders for swelling inflammation and pain from postpartum uterine contractions.
This donut cushion helps relieve the pressure from your vaginal area, as well as hemorrhoids to make healing quicker and easier.
Ameda Nipple Gel Pads
Ameda Nipple Gel Pads are a must-have for sore nipples. You can put them in the refrigerator so they are cool and keep them on your breasts in between nursing sessions.
